It baffles some, confuses others and most just don't know what to do with them.
The cruising chute is ideal for a light, peacefully calm breeze where you may otherwise be reaching to turn on the engine.
But this large sail is a mystery to many- when do I use it? How do I gybe one? will it make my boat uncontrollable? The questions can become endless.
But never fear, as the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show has all the answers on taming this beast, in the shape of sailing guru, John Goode. The cruising chute is brought to you in association with Yachting Monthly.
John will be on hand everyday of the Show as the cruising chute trainer answering all your questions and demonstrating how to hoist, trim and recover the sail.
Situated in the Marine Services section of the Show, the full-size replica of a fully rigged cruising yacht mounted on a powered turntable will have all sails up and full with the assistance of fan generated wind. This realistic simulator will prove that the cruising chute can be your friend and a huge help while out sailing.
